How to use
This free online tool allows you to generate custom RC airplane wing ribs model for 3D printing based on user-specified dimensions, airfoil shapes, and spar placements. You can create both individual wing ribs and large wing segments by adjusting the width setting.
There are two wing spars by default. You can adjust their position (in percents) and diameter. To remove one or both spars, set their diameter to zero.
After you are done adjusting the settings, click on "Download STL" and use your favorite slicer (Orca Slicer, Cura, etc) to prepare the model for 3D printing.
How to slice
- Wall Loops: Use 1-2 perimeter loops for optimal strength.
- Top & Bottom Shell Layers: Set to zero for a lightweight structure.
- Infill: Start with Rectilinear 10%, but try different infill settings to find the best balance between weight and durability for your specific configuration.
- If the model is too large for your print bed, try laying it diagonally or use your slicer to cut the model and print it in halves.
